Too funny … they think the little cafe they went after has an “accounting department” to notify about the need to keep paying every year.
We had a fun idea yesterday: perhaps we should find the list of artists who are supported by this royalty organization (it’s invitation only) – and invite them all to come and sing one song at Bazaar. Just so that we’d get a little value for this hard-earned money. Their artists include Adele, Burna Boy, Christophe Beck, Rosanne Cash, David Crosby, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, Lalah Hathaway, Kesha, Gabriel Mann, R.E.M. and about 30,000 more. Or maybe we can launch a “where’s Waldo” type game, let’s call it “searching for SESAC” to find us just one of our performers who are registered with this somewhat exclusive, for-profit organization.
Now if only we had a department that we could refer this request to.
