“Art making, for me, is a way to learn about our strange world and explore my imagination. I do most of my work “by hand”. I currently work in various forms of printmaking. I am fascinated by the alchemy that takes place in the process of printmaking. This old-world art form is full of mystery and teaches problem solving and patience.”
Lisa Nikkel is a printmaker based in San Francisco. She explores various techniques, including aquatint etching, woodblock carving, and screen printing. Her work contain various themes alluding to the relationship between the human world and the natural world, and uses these mediums to portray a story of connectedness.
